Brittany Tran Joins Team Einarson for St. John’s Grand Slam

Kerri Einarson's team continues to undergo changes as she brings in another new player for the upcoming National Grand Slam in St. John's.
Brittany Tran from Calgary is the latest addition to Team Einarson, filling in for the week’s event. Einarson’s lineup has seen considerable turnover this season, with second Shannon Birchard sidelined due to injury and lead Briane Harris awaiting the outcome of her appeal regarding a doping suspension.
Despite these challenges, Team Einarson has found success with various spare players. Dawn McEwen came out of retirement to help Einarson secure the Tour Challenge Slam title in Charlottetown, PEI, and Joanne Courtney stepped in after that, contributing to a cashspiel victory in Edmonton and a playoff finish at the following Grand Slam in Nisku, Alta.
Tran arrives in St. John's after competing in the mixed doubles Olympic Trials qualifier in Guelph, Ont. She and her partner, Rylan Kleiter, won the previous qualifier in Maple Ridge, B.C., earning a spot in the upcoming Olympic Trials next month in Liverpool, N.S.
In addition to her mixed doubles achievements, Tran plays third for Team Ashley Thevenot, representing Saskatchewan. She’s also a seasoned Scotties competitor, having played in three previous national women’s championships: in 2023 with Alberta’s Kayla Skrlik, in 2021 with Winnipeg’s Beth Peterson, and in 2019 with Kerry Galusha from the Northwest Territories.
